			Please join Congressman Chris Cannon (R-Utah), Senator Larry Craig (R-Idaho) and The Center for the New West telecommunications policy director Dr. Phil Weiser at this special policy briefing lunch on July 17th.
			University of Colorado professor Phil Weiser, a leading and well respected commentator on telecommunications issues, will brief Senate and House Staff members on the conclusions reached at recent policy conferences he has led for the Center:  one on Putting Network Neutrality in Perspective and another on Universal Services Policy:  Challenges and Opportunities for A New Telecom Act.  He will also discuss his recent testimony before the Senate Commerce Committee about the upcoming 700 MHz auction and the opportunity to transform the model of public safety communications.  Finally, he will offer an overview of the telecommunications landscape, provide an update on recent policy developments, and build upon testimony before the Federal Trade Commission in February and former testimony to the House Commerce Committee.
